CLEARFIELD – Tuesday was Election Day in Clearfield County, and voters showed up at the polls.

According to the county’s online results, there are 46,889 total registered voters. Of those, 27,054 voters, or 57.70 percent, went to their precinct to cast ballots.

Voters were casting ballots for governor/lieutenant governor; U.S. Senator; U.S. Representative in Congress; and representative to the General Assembly.

However, Clearfield County’s election results differed from the rest of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania in a pair of races.

For example, in the race for governor, Republican Scott Wagner won with 17,240 votes while Democratic incumbent Tom Wolf received just 9,233 votes in the county.

For U.S. Senate, Republican Lou Barletta won with 16,850 votes over two-term Democratic incumbent Bob Casey Jr., who had just 9,537 votes.

Republican incumbent Glenn “GT” Thompson received 19,475 votes for a convincing win over Democratic opponent Susan Boser (7,363 votes) in the race for the 15th Congressional District.

Both State Reps. Tommy Sankey and Matt Gabler, 73rd and 75th Districts, were unopposed and received 98 percent of votes.

All results are unofficial until certified by the county’s Board of Elections.
