CLEARFIELD – An Osceola Mills man who fled from police on a stolen ATV that was towing a stolen dirt bike was sentenced to state prison during sentencing court on Thursday.
Matthew Alan Wisor, 30, pleaded guilty to felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property in one case and felony receiving stolen property in two additional cases. He was sentenced to serve 24 months to five years in state prison by President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman for each incident. The terms of incarceration will run concurrently.
He must pay restitution of $500 for the stolen ATV.
According to the affidavits, while police were investigating the theft of a $2,500 dirt bike from a Decatur Township home June 30, they received information that someone had seen Wisor riding a four-wheeler with a trailer attached that contained the stolen dirt bike.
A search of the area was done during which one trooper spotted Wisor on the ATV. This trooper tried to initiate a traffic stop, but Wisor did not comply. Instead Wisor fled, driving off the berm.
Another trooper spotted him as he drove off the road into a wooded area. He eluded the officers but later the four-wheeler and trailer with the bike were found abandoned as Wisor had fled on foot.
When the police checked the ATV worth $5,000, they found that it was also reported stolen.
In the last case, a man reported to police that his riding lawn mower was taken from his rental property in Decatur Township between June 28 and June 30.
Because of the other cases, a trooper went to Wisor’s home to see if he had returned. There he saw the stolen lawn mower valued at $2,999 parked behind the residence.
