CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Mayor Mason Strouse and Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) are organizing a Community Cleanup Day Saturday, April 20.
Volunteers will gather at the Lower Witmer Park pavilion at 9:30 a.m. Some gloves, vests and garbage bags will be available to volunteers.
Those participating can also bring their own equipment. Assignments will be given at that time and volunteers can depart from there to gather trash.
CRC will also have volunteers help to mulch the 130-plus tree boxes in the downtown business district. Anyone can “adopt a tree,” which includes cleaning out the box around the tree, removing old mulch and weeds and checking on it throughout the year to make sure it remains presentable.
“Residents should always take pride in their own properties, even if they aren’t officially participating in these activities,” shared Strouse.
“I encourage everyone to get out and remove trash and debris from their own property. If we all do our part, we can really make a difference.”
This event is open to any individual, group, business or organization. For more information about the Community Cleanup Day and to learn how to “adopt a tree,” call the CRC at 814-765-6000.
