- Police received a report about a dog bite March 11 in the area of North Fifth and East Locust streets in Clearfield Borough. According to a department-issued news release, the female victim suffered serious injuries when the dog attacked her, biting her in the face. The dog was described as being a large, red-nosed pit bull. Anyone with information about the incident or possible owner of the dog is urged to contact police or Clearfield Borough Animal Control.
- Police reported a DUI incident occurred March 12 at the Nichols Street Sheetz in Clearfield Borough. According to a department-issued news release, a female—later identified as 30-year-old Christina Wilson—was passed out inside her vehicle. At the scene, officers determined she was under the influence of controlled substances. She was also allegedly in possession of numerous buprenorphine pills that were prescribed to another person. Wilson was placed under arrest and transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported a DUI incident occurred March 12 on Norman Road in Glen Richey. According to a department-issued news release, information was received regarding a male—later identified as 58-year-old William Poole Jr.—driving under the influence. His vehicle was located and stopped by officers who upon investigation determined Poole was heavily intoxicated by alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police released information regarding a warrant service that happened March 14 on Bowers Street in Clearfield Borough. According to a department-issued news release, officers were notified that 36-year-old Matthew Scoggins, who was wanted by the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office, was located at an East 10th Street residence. At the scene, police encountered Scoggins on Bowers Street and he allegedly proceeded to flee on foot. While running, he hit a chain-link fence, damaging it. He was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit and was allegedly in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Scoggins was housed in county jail and faces charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
