CLEARFIELD – Two people charged in connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl were scheduled for preliminary hearings Wednesday.
Police say Randi Jo Marie Bambarger, 22, of Clearfield and Craig William Marshall, 20, of Reynoldsville, were both in the apartment with the victim drinking, when she was allegedly assaulted by Hunter Vroman, 22, of Punxsutawney.
In July Vroman was charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, sex assault, aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors, all felonies, in addition to misdemeanor counts of indecent assault person less than 16, and furnishing liquor to minors.
These charges were all held to court after a preliminary hearing in August. He is in the county jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
Bambarger is charged with felony counts of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children as well as two misdemeanor counts of furnishing alcohol to minors.
On Wednesday, she waived her right to a preliminary hearing, sending her case on to the county court. Her bail was set at $5,000, unsecured.
Marshall’s felony count of corruption of minors was held to court after a hearing. He failed to appear in court and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest, according to online court documents.
The affidavit in these cases details how Bambarger invited Vroman and Marshall to her home where the victim was staying. While there, the four drank beer, twisted tea, mixed drinks and vodka.
The victim told investigators that she drank “a lot” and was “feeling good.”
She explained Bambarger and Marshall went into a bedroom, leaving her with Vroman. The two laid down on the mattress and Vroman tried to initiate sex. She said she kept telling him no, but “then gave up, when he kept trying.”
She had trouble recalling details because she had been drinking, according to the report.
In an interview with authorities, at first Vroman denied having intercourse with her but eventually stated he had “consensual sex” with the girl.
