Lawrence Twp. Reorganizes for 2019

CLEARFIELD – Last night was the reorganizational meeting for Lawrence Township’s board of supervisors and the supervisors went through a list of numerous items for the coming year.

Randy Powell was retained as chairman of the board with Jeremy Ruffner retained as vice-chairman. Barbara Shaffner will continue to be the secretary/treasurer for the township at an hourly rate of $18.90 per hour and $50 per meeting.

Debra Finkbeiner will remain as the code and zoning enforcement officer at an hourly rate of $14.48 per hour, and Ronald Woodling is roadmaster at $21.16 per hour.

Township solicitor will be the firm of Naddeo and Lewis for a monthly retainer of $1,400 per month. Zachary Lawhead will continue as maintenance personnel at $10.40 per hour.

Doug Clark remains police chief per contract with Supervisor Dan Mitchell as the police liaison. Heather Olson will continue as the police department administrative assistant at $12.50 per hour. Jamie Collins will continue as animal control officer at $480 per month.

The township tax collector is Kelly McCracken at three percent commission.

Taxes for the township are as follows: real estate millage is set at 18 mills. The wage tax is one-half of one percent and the real estate transfer tax is also one-half of one percent. Local Services Tax is $52 per year. The amusement tax is $50 per machine plus $25 for each additional machine.

Meetings will continue to be held the first and third Tuesday of each month, beginning in February. The second meeting for January will be held Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.

Other appointments include Walter Hopkins as auditor, Stiffler McGraw & Associates as engineer, PennSafe Inspection Agency as building code officers and building inspectors, Shaffner as Clearfield County Tax Collection Committee delegate with Leslie Stott as the alternate, Paul Snyder as emergency management coordinator, Jack Woolridge as representative to the vacancy board and Kim Kesner as solicitor for the zoning hearing board.
