UNION TOWNSHIP – A 22-year-old Curwensville woman, Breanna J. Royer, died as a result of a head-on crash Saturday on the Chestnut Grove Highway in Union Township.
According to DuBois-based state police, at approximately 4:43 p.m., Royer was traveling south when her vehicle crossed over the center line for unknown reasons. It struck an oncoming vehicle head-on.
State police say Royer was unresponsive on-scene and initially taken to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital to be stabilized for transport by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Alleghany County officials informed state police later Saturday night that Royer was deceased.
Mariah L. Good, 22, of Punxsutawney was the driver of the second vehicle. She suffered a broken arm and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene. State police were assisted by Brady and Union Township, Oklahoma, Fourth Ward and Curwensville fire departments, Brady Township and DuBois emergency medical services, Stat Medivac and towing services.
