HYDE — The Clearfield Bison Junior Varsity football team hosted, and defeated, the Tyrone Golden Eagles on Monday night at the Bison Sports Complex.
The defensive struggle was won 18-6 by the Bison.
A Matt Pallo interception and long return in to Tyrone territory set up the first score of the game – a three yard Jason Plubell run. The 2-point conversion failed and the Bison took a short-lived 6-0 lead.
Tyrone tied the score on the ensuing kick off with a 65 yard run back.
A second quarter 16-yard Pallo to Logan Firanski touchdown pass re-gave the hosts the halftime lead at 12-6.
After a scoreless third quarter, the game was decided when Mark McGonigal stepped in front of a Tyrone pass and returned it 47 yards for the back breaking touchdown and the 18-6 win.
The Bison (3-2) host Bald Eagle Area next Monday.
