DUBOIS – A DuBois woman has been accused of stealing Oxycodone from the pharmacy where she worked.
Kaitlyn Suzanne Petrick, 28, is charged with nine counts each of felony acquiring or obtaining possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation, misdemeanor intentional possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor procuring drug by fraud.
The charges were filed after an investigation by an agent of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a pharmacist at Penn Highlands DuBois noticed that whiteout had been used to change the narcotic count on the pharmacy’s written inventory.
A further look revealed numerous instances where the incorrect count of Oxycodone was put into the inventory and computer system.
The numbers entered were different than what had been ordered from the drug distributor. Also, the invoices for these orders were missing from the pharmacy.
In all, nine times during January, February and March, Petrick, a pharmacy technician, allegedly received the drug order and recorded a lower amount of Oxycodone into the system than was on the invoices that she sent to the billing department.
It is believed Petrick took the extra pills for herself and then failed to file a copy of the invoices in the pharmacy records. A total of 2,100 pills were missing.
When she was drug tested in March, she was positive for amphetamines, cocaine, metabolite, opiates, Oxycodone, marijuana and methadone.
In an interview with the agent, Petrick reportedly said she sold the stolen pills for $10 per tablet to someone in Reynoldsville.
Petrick’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 20.
