Thomas Charles Ogden, 90, of Clearfield died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
Born May 5, 1926 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Charles Matthew and Kathryn (Knight) Ogden.
Mr. Ogden was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. He was retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 12 after 25-plus years of service.
He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 540 in Clearfield, where he was named Elk of the Year twice and had served on various committees. He was also a member of the Clearfield American Legion and the Clearfield VFW.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He loved to travel in his motor home and to care for rescued pets.
On Feb. 6, 1986 in Clearfield, he wed the former Barbara Cupples, who survives, along with a daughter, Peggy Campbell and her husband, Ed of Florida and step-daughters, Terry Killion and her husband, Paul of Hyde and Tracey Dixon Taft and her husband, Jack of Warren.
He is also survived by a granddaughter, Christine Clickner and her husband, Dan of Michigan, a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Clickner and a sister, Margaret Hoyt of Hyde as well as eight step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ogden was preceded in death by his parents and two step-sons, Douglas and Scott Dixon.
Funeral services for Mr. Ogden will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. Stephen Shields officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The Clearfield Lodge No. 540 B.P.O.E. will conduct Elk Memorial Services at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
