Obituary Notice: Michael Paul Yeager

Michael Paul Yeager, 69, of State College and formerly of Clearfield, died Thursday at his residence.

He was born in Oil City and the son of the late John S. and Elizabeth L. (Burdick) Yeager.

He is survived by a son, J. Benjamin Yeager (Kelly) of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren, Kaylyn M., Frank B., and Max S. Yeager; and a sister, Kathryn P. Yeager (John M. Sullivan) of Lancaster.

Mr. Yeager was also survived by Kay S. Yeager and Lois Catherine “Cassie” Smith.

He was preceded in death by Max S. Smith.  He was also preceded in death by several infant siblings.

He was a graduate of Venango Christian High School, a 1969 graduate of Penn State University and a 1972 graduate of Dickenson School of Law.

Mr. Yeager was retired as a self-employed attorney, and he was a long-time member of the Clearfield County Bar Association.

He enjoyed Penn State sports, golfing, skiing, model train collecting and spending time with his grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Fr. Brandon M. Kleckner officiating. 

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation, 1330 11th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601 in Mr. Yeager’s memory.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, is in charge of arrangements.
