State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred May 26-27 on Veterans Street in Gulich Township. During the incident, the actor(s) allegedly scammed the victim of approximately $5,255 while posing as part of Technical Support of America for virus removal from a personal computer. The victim had previously used this company, and it was able to withdraw money from his bank account. However, it was sent to Nepal, India, according to state police. State police would like to remind residents not to send money out of the country, especially if one is unfamiliar with the company.
- State police responded to a single-vehicle accident Thursday on Interstate 80 westbound near mile-marker 127 in Bradford Township. Further, a DuBois woman lost control of her Jeep and it left the roadway; it subsequently overturned on the southern side of the roadway. She was wearing her seatbelt but injured and taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Her vehicle was towed from the scene. The woman was also cited for the accident, state police said. State police were assisted by the Bigler-Jackson-Woodland and Morris Township fire departments, Clearfield EMS and Fire Police.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred May 29 on Houtz Lane in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, a Port Matilda man allegedly harassed the victim.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred May 24-25 on Ramsaytown Road in Knox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took medication from the victim’s vehicle. State police are continuing their investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to call 814-938-0510.
- State police received a report about an incident of simple assault that occurred May 17 on Chamberlin Road in Pine Creek Township. During the incident, a teenage male allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical and injured the victim.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred sometime Tuesday or Wednesday on West Main Street in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone allegedly made entry into a garage, and several items were removed from it. State police are continuing their investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Clearfield Borough
- Police reported that a GPS unit was removed from a vehicle while it was parked along Daisy Street.
- Police assisted state parole with taking a male into custody along Leonard Street. The male was turned over to state parole agents, police said.
- Police assisted Lawrence Township police in searching for a wanted male.
- Police responded to a single-vehicle, minor accident along South Third Street. Police reported that a vehicle being operated by a Clearfield resident struck a street sign. There were no injuries reported in the accident, according to police.
- Police located a phone in a parking lot along South Third Street. Police were able to locate the owner of the phone.
- Police located a female who had an active arrest warrant. She was transported to the office where she resolved the warrant.
- Police assisted with unlocking a vehicle for the owner who had locked their keys inside.
- Police were called to South Fourth Street for an altercation in progress. A male left the residence, police said. Police searched the area and were not able to locate the male.
- Police handled an incident of harassment via communications.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a possible motorist who was driving under the influence at Snappy’s Convenience Store. Upon arrival to the scene, police found a young male who was passed out behind the wheel. Police then administered a field sobriety test, which he passed. He was subsequently charged with the summary offense of public intoxication.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual at a residence along the Clearfield-Glen Richey Highway.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person who was looking into windows on Park Avenue Extension. Upon arrival police found they were locked out of their residence.
- Clearfield Borough police were assisted with checking the welfare of a resident on Daisy Street.
- Police received a traffic complaint due to a vehicle being driven all over the roadway. However, the vehicle was gone prior to police arrival in the area.
- Police assisted state parole with capturing a parole absconder.
- Police received a report about suspicious activity in Glen Richey.
- Police received a report about an incident of fraud involving a caller who claimed to be with the IRS.
Sandy Township
- On May 29 police received a report from the Penn Highlands emergency department that a 27-year-old Hanes Drive woman was allegedly assaulted by her 25-year-old boyfriend. Officers located the man and he admitted to assaulting the woman. He was arrested and charges for the assault were filed against him.
- A 33-year-old Treasure Lake woman reported when she was backing out of her driveway May 29 she struck a vehicle that was parked across the street. There was a person inside of the vehicle; however, before she could give them her information, the vehicle left the scene.
- On Monday police received a report about dirt bikes and four-wheelers being driven erratically on Quarry Avenue.
- Police reported that unknown actors spray-painted graffiti on the Sabula Raiders’ funnel cake trailer that was parked at the Lions Club off of Platt Road on Monday.
- On Monday the district manager of Monroe Muffler reported that there was approximately $4,100 worth of tires missing from the store. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Mid-State Amusement Tuesday.
