CLEARFIELD – Local police busted a “sophisticated marijuana growing operation” Wednesday afternoon in Clearfield, according to a news release from Clearfield Borough police.

Police were dispatched to check the welfare of a male at a Daisy Street residence at approximately 12:20 p.m. Police say it was reported that he may have tried to harm himself and could be a threat to another person.

Upon arrival to the scene, the male was located in an upstairs window along with a large amount of blood. He was armed with a long rifle, police say. The male obeyed commands to drop the weapon, and police went inside and took him into custody.

Upon further investigation, police allegedly located a “sophisticated marijuana growing operation.”  Police seized 15 marijuana plants along with seeds, growing lights and other paraphernalia.  Police are continuing their investigation at this time and expect to file charges soon.

The male was transported to the hospital for treatment, according to police. Police were assisted at the scene by the Lawrence Township police, the Pennsylvania State Police K-9 Unit and a Pennsylvania State Constable.
