Marilyn R. Aughenbaugh, 80, of Clearfield died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Mrs. Aughenbaugh was born March 10, 1933 in Greensburg, the daughter of Robert E. and Agnes (Wilson) Thorn.
She graduated from Clearfield Area High School in class of 1951 and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Aughenbaugh was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield. She was a member of the NON Club, Clearfield Women’s Club, Bridge Club and Pinochle Club.
Mrs. Aughenbaugh volunteered for various organizations, including the American Red Cross and the Clearfield Hospital.
She is survived by six children, Dr. Jack A. Aughenbaugh Jr. and his wife, Ellen Boron of Pottsville, Jerry R. Aughenbaugh of Clearfield, Jeffrey L. Aughenbaugh of Dayton, Ohio, Eric S. Aughenbaugh and his wife, Violet of Mill Hall, Tamara Gearhart and her husband, Pat of Manheim and Jill Ogden and her husband, Robert of Woodland; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Aughenbaugh was the last member of her generation. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack A. Aughenbaugh, whom she married on March 23, 1954 and whom died July 23, 1992; a brother, William T. Thorn and a sister, Joanne Mellott.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Pastor Sallie Swenson officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
