Burnside Voters Request Polling Site Change

CLEARFIELD – Seventeen Burnside voters have signed and submitted a petition for a polling place change, Chief Clerk Lisa McFadden said at Tuesday’s County Commissioners work session.

She said the current location is at the Burnside Borough building, but the voters would like the site moved to the fire hall.

“They said it’s more handicapped accessible,” McFadden said.

County Solicitor Kim Kesner said it’s healthy to announce the petition has been received.

The commissioners would like input from residents in order to prevent future controversy.
As a result, Commissioner Mark McCracken reminded others of the problems in the recent past, when the Bigler Township supervisors were unaware the voters were requesting for a polling site change.

“Any voters who have concerns should contact us,” Commissioner Joan Robinson-McMillen said.
