CLEARFIELD – Although Clearfield County is considered the gateway to the Pennsylvania Wilds, generally bobcats prefer more wild areas. They’re seen a few times per year, but do not usually come close to areas where humans frequent.
Lawrence Township Police were called to state Route 879 near Sapp Bros. this weekend after receiving a report that a bobcat was struck by a vehicle.
According to reports, the bobcat was found to be injured by police, who contacted the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The bobcat — named “Billy Bobcat” by the police — died, though, before game officials could get there.
Police removed the bobcat from the road.
