STATE COLLEGE – A joint investigation with state police troopers and officers from the State College Police Department resulted in the arrest of a Philadelphia man Thursday night.
The state police Troop G Vice Unit and State College Police were conducting an investigation into a man who was believed to be transporting cocaine from Philadelphia to State College. On Thursday, undercover officers made contact with Troy E. Davis, 30, of Philadelphia.
Davis, police said, had planned to travel to State College via bus and deliver about one ounce, or 28 grams, of cocaine.
At 9 p.m. Thursday, Davis arrived in State College and was approached by uniformed State College police officers a short distance from the bus station.
Officers seized about 21 grams of cocaine during the incident. That amount of the drug has a street value of about $1,000 according to state police.
Davis was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and other counts. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Johnathan Grine in State College.
Davis was placed in Centre County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail. Police also learned that Davis was on parole in Montgomery County, and a detainer was filed in the case.
