CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough Police Chief Jeff Rhone will likely be asking council for full-time or part-time officers in the new year.
Rhone said the borough has been investing a lot of man hours with in-depth investigations.
While the chief said the borough is not short-staffed when it comes to public safety, all of the borough’s part-time officers have been hired at other jobs as well, creating for difficulty in scheduling.
“In order for me to maintain the coverage we need to do … we need some more people out there,” Rhone said.
Rhone invited the council members to visit the police station and find out what goes in to investigations such as robberies and arsons.
He also handed out a letter to members of the media and citizens of Clearfield. The full text of that letter, look below.
