PHILIPSBURG – Sarah C. Holden, 21, and Timothy F. Souders Jr., 25, both of Philipsburg, were arrested Friday morning on warrants in Philipsburg.
Members of the Troop G Vice and Narcotic Unit, along with troopers from the state police barracks at Philipsburg took the pair into custody at about 7:30 Friday morning while they were at a camp in Black Moshannon State Park.
The warrants were served for charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
Police report that controlled buys of heroin were made from both Holden and Souders in July using undercover officers from the vice unit.
The investigation showed that one to two bricks (50 bags per brick) of heroin were being transported from Philadelphia to Philipsburg on a daily basis for the past several months.
The cost of a brick of heroin in Philadelphia is $400, police report. The same brick can be sold by the bag in Philipsburg can be sold for $30 per bag, or $1,500 per brick.
Both Holden and Souders were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair. Bail was set at $50,000 cash each. They are being held in Centre County Prison.
The investigation continues, and more charges could be filed.
