PHILIPSBURG – A 32-year-old Philipsburg woman was assaulted at her home on Friday.
According to Philipsburg-based state police, the woman was held down on her bed by a known suspect. It was reported that he proceeded to choke her around the neck, then placed his hand across her mouth and nose, blocking her ability to breath. Police state she was on the verge of passing out.
The man let her go and she went to call 911. He then disabled the phones in the apartment. Several hours later he agreed to leave the apartment.
Police are still searching for the man.
