Man Accused of Turnpike Robbery Waives Hearing

CLEARFIELD – Two men accused of burglarizing a woman’s home on Turnpike Avenue were scheduled for preliminary hearings on Wednesday.

Jeremy Zelenky 21, waived his right to a hearing while Curtis Stiner, 20, had his case continued. Both men are from Morrisdale.

Police stated that on Jan. 20 the woman awoke to to find an intruder in her home. The person fled with a safe belonging to the woman. The safe contained money, jewelry, prescription drugs and important documents. At the time, police had one man in custody on a warrant and were aware of an accomplice.

Zelenky was charged with burglary, tampering with evidence, trespass and related charges. He is in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $50,000 straight bail. Stiner is charged with criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence and related charges. Stiner posted bail and is free.
