PHILIPSBURG – Officials of the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership announced recently that its Board of Directors is in place for fiscal year 2024.
Each year, five of the MVEDP’s 15 board members are up for re-election. The staff and board work to find candidates to run for board seats.
For FY 2024, the staff learned that the five incumbents wanted to keep their seats by running again in an election.
Those five incumbents up for re-election included Robert Steward Jr., Steve Lyncha, Bryan Bennett, Dustin Minarchick and Eric White.
The MVEDP was not able to find anyone to run in the election this year. These five board members will keep their seats on the board for a new three-year term.
Other MVEDP board members include Bill Jones, Jim Pollock, Jeff Herr, John Shimko, Gene Wardo, Karen Blair, Rusty Christoff, Wanda Ryen, Josiah Jones and Robert Maltais.
The MVEDP is a private, non-profit economic and community development organization that has served the Moshannon Valley region since 1988 or for the past 35 years.
Board members Jim Pollock and Bill Jones have served the board since that date. When the tenures of all the fifteen board members are added together, the total years of service adds to 226 years.
Projects completed by the MVEDP include: Moshannon Valley Enterprise Center, Moshannon Valley Regional Business Park, Moshannon Valley Regional Business Center, Philipsburg Area Commerce Park, Moshannon Valley Enterprise Park, Philipsburg Main Street Program and the Moshannon Valley Revolving Loan Fund Program.
