State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report of a theft that occurred Sept. 27 on Crossroads Boulevard in Beccaria Township. During the incident, unknown persons were allegedly cutting down and removing trees at the Crossroads Cemetery. The investigation is ongoing.
- State police received a report of a burglary Sept. 12 on Pottersdale Road in Karthaus Township. During the incident, a 33-year-old Morrisdale man allegedly forced entry into the victims’ residence, which is being renovated, without permission, and used the bathroom. Charges were filed through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police were dispatched to a residence on West Locust Street for a welfare check. Once on-scene, police located and spoke to a male. No further action was taken.
- Police were dispatched to West Seventh Avenue for a welfare check. Police made contact with a male who stated everything was fine.
- Police conducted a traffic stop and it was found that two passengers held active warrants. Upon further investigation, drug paraphernalia was reportedly located within the vehicle. Charges are pending on a female.
- Police were dispatched to the area of High and Clark streets for a suspicious male. Upon arrival, it was found that the male had no where to go so he was given a courtesy transport to a local establishment.
- Police responded to an incident of harassment on Hook Street. Upon arrival, it was found that a female stared at another female as she exited her car.
- Clearfield Borough officers assisted the Lawrence Township police with a firearm-related call on Byers Street.
- Police received a call from a resident on Merrill Street in reference to his neighbor mowing grass too late in the day.
- Police assisted the Lawrence Township police with taking a male into custody at the Nichols Street Sheetz. It was found that he had threatened another motorist with an axe in the township’s jurisdiction.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report of terroristic threats/harassment that occurred Oct. 18 in the area of Family Dollar, Clearfield. During the incident, an Osceola Mills man allegedly approached the victim’s vehicle, as she traveled in the area and threatened her with an axe. She said he was the operator of the vehicle ahead of her, got out and began to approach her vehicle on Chester Street. Police located the man, identified as Donald William Pentland, at the Nichols Street Sheetz Store and he was taken into custody. Charges have been filed.
- Police reported a drug violation occurred Oct. 18 at Sapp Bros., Clearfield. According to police, a call was received about an unresponsive male from Oregon who regained consciousness upon officers’ arrival. It was found that he was under the influence of alcohol and in possession of one pipe containing suspected marijuana residue. Charges of public intoxication and use/possession of drug paraphernalia were filed.
