CLEARFIELD – There was no quorum at Tuesday’s Clearfield Municipal Authority meeting.
However, the board members present did hear from Engineer Jim Balliet, who will not be able to attend the rescheduled meeting next week.
Balliet reported a scope of improvements has been determined after televising in the Kerr Addition and Mount Joy areas and a request for proposals was sent to four contractors for the first phase of work, to be done under COSTARS.
Only two responded, with a joint proposal: Insight Pipe and Utilities Services Group. The project will include sealing manholes, spot repairs and ensuring the interceptors are tight.
Also, Balliet reported that the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit renewal application for the Moose Creek Water Treatment Facility needs to be submitted.
However, the laboratory did not meet the minimum detection levels required by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
Balliet said another sampling will need to be done, which takes three weeks, and then sent to another laboratory.
The rescheduled meeting will be July 24 at 4 p.m.
