DUBOIS – DuBois Central Catholic’s fourth graders share thoughts on what their next step should be to complete their motorized Lego Earth Moon model.
Both sections of fourth graders experienced working in pairs to complete the model as a follow-up activity to their study of the moon, comets, planets, meteors and space in general.
According to Debbie Vandervort, science teacher, the Bricks4Kidz activity challenged the students’ ability to read, follow directions, discuss options and collaborate with a peer to achieve a goal.
Headmaster Gretchen Caruso adds, “Special thanks to the parents who helped organize and assist with the activity along with DCC teachers Jenna Nedzinski and Susie Maurer, who provided guidance.”
