Sandora Jane Minute Galio, 93, of Curwensville died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born March 10, 1922 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Anthony and Jennie (Quethera) Minute.
Mrs. Galio was a homemaker.
She had worked for the former GC Murphy 5 & 10 and the snack bar at the former Ames Department Store in Clearfield. She retired on Oct. 19, 1989 from the Curwensville Area School District as a cook in the cafeteria.
She was a member of the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, where she also was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She enjoyed helping her family, friends and neighbors, and especially liked to cook. She also was a 1939 graduate of Clearfield Area High School.
On Oct. 20, 1945 in Clearfield, she wed Sandy Galio. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Nicholas and James Minute.
She was a loving mother to three children, James Allen Galio and his wife, Phyllis of Bellefonte and Barbara A. Caldwell and her husband, David and Karen L. McKinley (Jerry McNaul), both of Curwensville.
She adored her four grandchildren, James Allen Galio Jr. (Jennifer Young) and Heather A. Cassidy and her husband, Andrew, both of Bellefonte, DJ Caldwell and his wife, Anyssa of Altoona and Shana McKinley (Corey Bailor) of Curwensville.
She also adored her three great-grandchildren, Isabella Grace Galio and Willem James Cassidy, both of Bellefonte, and Kinley Jane Bailor of Curwensville.
Also surviving are two sisters, Tina Shiner of Clearfield and Mary Jo Brown and her husband, Butch of State College.
There will be no public visitation.
A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville, PA 16833 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
