Kerry L. Starr, 45, Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born May 16, 1969 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Bryan Aveni and Marcella (Conrad) Aveni. Her mother survives and lives in Woodland.
On May 14, 1994, she married Michael A. Starr Jr. He survives.
She was a third grade teacher at Philipsburg Elementary School. She worked for the Philipsburg-Osceola School District for 18 years.
She was a member of the Tri County Church, where she was a leader of one of the “Welcome Teams.” She was actively involved in her children’s sporting events involving DuBois Wrestling and the DuBois Little League.
She enjoyed walking, going to the beach and being with her family, friends and church family. Most importantly, she enjoyed being a mom to her boys.
She is survived by her sons, Matthew M. Starr and Garrett M. Starr, both at home; a brother, Jeff Aveni and his wife, Rhonda and their two sons, Ty and Bo of Woodland; and a sister, Drena Pry and her husband, Neal of Bigler.
She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Tri County Church with Pastor David Bish and Pastor Dan Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family strongly suggests that memorials be sent to the Tri County Church, 1881 Old 255 Rd., DuBois, PA 15801 and or a cancer research project of the donor’s choice.
