
Donald B. Pentland, 71, of Glen Richey died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born March 22, 1944 in Worchester, Mass., he was the son of Donald B. and Beatrice (Rhoades) Pentland.
Mr. Pentland had served as a policeman for Curwensville Borough. He had also worked in the AC/Refrigeration industry both for both himself and other companies for many years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He had attended the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Clearfield and been a member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M. and the former Lawrence Grange.
On July 8, 1992, he wed the former Deborah Hines, whom survives along with two children, Melanie Gillingham of Clearfield and Donald W. Pentland and his companion, Samantha Young of Osceola Mills; and three step-sons Matthew Spratt and his wife, Malinda of Falls Creek and Jeremiah Spratt and Timothy Spratt, both of Clearfield.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Amasa, Vance, Chase, Gage, Lily, Taven and Vincent and a nephew, Bill Bridge of Philadelphia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Diane Bridge; and a niece, Lynn Bridge.
A memorial service for Mr. Pentland will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. John F. White officiating.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. Wednesday until time of services at the funeral home.
