Helen L. Dugan, 90, of Philipsburg and formerly of Tyrone died Wednesday, July 23 2014 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born Feb. 13, 1924 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Haney) Dugan. She was a member of the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Tyrone and was a member of the Peer Group while residing at Windy Hill Village.
Ms. Dugan was employed by with the Chicago Rivet Factory in Tyrone until her retirement and was a 1942 graduate of the Houtzdale High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight sisters and five brothers.
Ms. Dugan is survived by a sister, Rita Catherine Evanochko of Philipsburg; two nieces, Patricia L. Lobb and Jennifer R. Laws-Gillam and her husband, James “Lew” Gillam, all of Philipsburg; a nephew, Jeffrey Laws and his wife, Susan of Dickerson, Md.; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Robert J. Kelly as celebrant. Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg. The Rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
