An ambulance responds to the scene of an emergency.

Decatur Twp.- A local man was seriously injured after he crashed his vehicle into the back of a tractor-trailer on Tuesday.

According to Clearfield-based State Police, the crash happened around 4:06 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, on U.S. Route 322, in Decatur Township, Clearfield County.

Police say a 2016 Peterbilt 365 operated by 54-year-old William Cintron, of Alexandria, was stopped in the eastbound lane due to backed-up traffic.

Cintron’s tractor-trailer was then struck from behind by a 2015 GMC Sierra driven by 60-year-old Timothy P. Myers, of Morrisdale.

Myers suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported to UPMC Altoona by Moshannon Valley EMS.

Cintron reported minor injuries but refused transport.

Both drivers were using seat belts.

Myers’ vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front end while the tractor-trailer had functional damage.
