CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. — (EYT) — An area man was killed following a two-vehicle crash on Route 322 in Clearfield County early Friday morning.

According to Clearfield-based State Police, the crash occurred on Rockton Mountain Highway (Route 322), in Union Township, Clearfield County, around 1:27 a.m. on Friday, May 17.

The victim—whose name has not been release and has been identified as a 56-year-old man from Luthersburg—was the passenger of a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 28-year-old Chicgo A. Callendar, of Luthersburg.

Police say Callendar’s vehicle was traveling eastbound when a deer came from right side of the roadway. The vehicle collided with the deer with its front driver’s side, causing Callendar to lose control and travel into the path of a westbound 2013 Ford Edge operated by 34-year-old Jordan J. Fustine, of DuBois.

Fustine’s vehicle impacted Callendar’s car on the passenger side.

Both Callendar and his passenger were not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and the airbags did not deploy.

The passenger died due to injuries from the crash, police say.

Fustine and his passenger—32-year-old Andrew C. Yohn, of DuBois—had seat belts on at the time of the crash and sustained unknown minor injuries.

Callendar, Fustine, and Yohn were all transported to Penn Highlands DuBois.
