- Police responded to a report of a suspicious person March 29 at the Red Roof Inn, Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, a male—later identified as 43-year-old Travis Ceprish (homeless)—was nodding off on a motorcycle. Upon arrival on-scene, the investigation determined he’d operated the motorcycle while under the influence of a controlled substance. He was found to have active warrants for failure to pay, as well as to be in possession of Suboxone sublingual strips. Ceprish was housed in county jail on warrants and new charges.
- Police received a report about a domestic March 30 on Poplar Avenue, Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, it was determined that 35-year-old Daniel C. Maines was involved in a physical altercation with a female. He allegedly struck her several times, then fled the scene. Police located Maines, and he was transported to county jail. Charges were filed through the district court.
