State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a stolen cell phone March 1 on Penn Street in Grampian Borough. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police received a report about a stolen inspection sticker March 7 on Peterbuilt Lane in Bradford Township. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- State police received a report of a burglary that occurred March 12 in Gulich Township. According to a station-issued news release, the victim had approximately $10,000 in cash removed from their residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report of theft/criminal mischief Feb. 12 on Grandview Road in Penn Township. According to a station-issued news release, someone removed cremated ashes from a grave site. In the process, they allegedly caused damage to the gravestone. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
Clearfield Regional
- Police reported their ongoing investigation into a school bus crash that occurred around 3:25 p.m. March 13 in the area of Rockton Mountain Highway and Flegal Road in Lawrence Township. According to a department-issued news release, the bus was only occupied by the driver who was extracted by fire and emergency personnel. They were subsequently transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of moderate injuries. The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained minor injuries.
- Police were called March 7 to a residence in the 400-block of Shaw Street in Lawrence Township. According to a department-issued news release, there were items of drug paraphernalia located and they were determined to belong to 29-year-old Janessa K. Palumbo. Charges were filed through the district court.
- Police reported a DUI occurred March 9 in the 500-block of Daisy Street in Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, there was a vehicle being driven erratically, and when it was stopped by officers, the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for DUI and charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police handled an incident of harassment March 9 in the area of East Market and South Fifth streets in Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, officers spoke with a female sitting in an SUV. She said a male attempted to strike her in the face but missed and struck her in the shoulder. The male was cited for disorderly conduct and harassment.
- Police were called to an incident of harassment March 9 at Mary’s Place in Clearfield. According to a department-issued news release, two males were involved in an altercation. The investigation is ongoing.
- Police were called to an alleged assault March 9 at a Clearfield funeral home. According to a department-issued news release, 52-year-old Louis J. Mitchell Jr. was yelling and attempting to “fight people” at services. At the scene, officers learned Mitchell was in attendance when he struck one person, then attempted to strike another person. The victim suffered minor injuries. Mitchell fled prior to police arrival and charges were filed through the district court.
