STATE COLLEGE – The Downtown State College Improvement District (DSCID) is holding “Love for Local” to generously spread love and support to its downtown merchants this Valentine’s Day.
Love for Local is an opportunity for consumers to receive a free Downtown Gift Card when they spend their dollars in the Downtown State College Improvement District beginning Feb. 14 and continuing while the limited supplies last.
Spend $100 or more downtown at one or more merchants and receive a Downtown Gift Card of $25, or spend $200 or more and receive a $60 Downtown Gift Card.
To receive the free Downtown Gift Card, customers must bring all receipts to the Downtown State College Improvement District office, located at 127 S. Fraser St., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Participants may also pay it forward and donate their gift card to the Mid-State Literacy Council, a non-profit organization created in 1971 to bring literacy in all forms to adults in Centre and Clearfield counties.
Participants may only redeem receipts for gift cards once per person per day, and all receipts must be dated on or after Feb. 14, 2024. Qualifying purchases include individual business gift cards, but does not include the purchase of a Downtown Gift Card.
Lee Anne Jeffries, DSCID executive director, shared the inspiration behind the Love for Local promotion, “This program is a win-win for the downtown merchants, during a typically quiet time of the year, and a Valentine to our community.”
