Winter Warrior Showdown Will Return to DuBois

DUBOIS – The Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League (WPAL) is thrilled to announce that the Winter Warrior Showdown is returning to DuBois.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, with weigh-ins occurring from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. Power-lifting begins at 9 a.m.

Early registration runs through Dec. 31, with full power (all three lifts) having an entry fee of $60; iron man (bench and dead-lift), $40; and bench only, $30.

A free competitor shirt is also guaranteed.

Late registration runs Jan. 1 through Jan. 20, with entry fees of full power, $70; iron man, $50 and bench only, $40.

Awards will be given to the top three place-winners in full power. Only first place will be awarded in the iron man and bench lifts.

It’s a non-sanctioned meet but will follow USA Power-lifting meet rules and regulations.

Age groups include: 14-16; 17-18; 19-35 open and 35-plus sub-master.

Male weight classes include: 125-144; 145-164; 165-184; 185-204; 205-224; 225-244 and 245-275.

Female weight classes include: 105-124; 125-144; 145-164; 165-184; 185-plus; and 276-plus.

Proceeds benefit the WPAL Fitness Center in downtown DuBois, which is part of the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
