CLEARFIELD – For the past 13 years, the Shaw Park Santa House has welcomed around 400 to 500 children and families through its doors each Christmas season.

This year the Santa House is undergoing a much-needed refresh thanks to Clearfield Revitalization Corp. board member, John Troxell, and Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School students Warren Diethrick and Madison Bircham.

Warren is currently a senior who’s also enrolled in the Welding and Metal Fabrication program at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center. Madison is a junior at Clearfield.

When Main Street Manager Sue Diehl reached out to the CCCTC about having some volunteers help paint the Santa House, Warren and Madison were quick to respond.

In addition to painting, the Shaw Park house will also have new carpet installed thanks to Perry Rowles and Mike Owens.

Funding for this project comes from the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. and the Downtown Lighting Fund.

If you are interested in donating to the Downtown Lighting Fund or to learn more about the projects and activities the fund serves, please call Diehl at 814 765-6000.
