Curwensville Feed Store to Celebrate Grand Re-Opening

CURWENSVILLE-Curwensville Feed Store, located on 224 Filbert St., has served the Curwensville community since 1947.

It was a family-owned business operated by the Riddle family. But in 2023, ownership was transferred to Fran McAninch.

“I’ve known the Riddle family for over 20 years,” shares McAninch, noting their long-standing support of her endeavors including 4H.

When they chose the path of retirement, she had the opportunity to purchase the store and continue their legacy.

“It’s something that’s mattered to me—ever since high school.”

And so, McAninch is committed to “carrying on” the tradition of providing customers with the highest-quality products that have been safety-sourced from trusted suppliers.

“Locally-sourcing products—whenever it’s possible and supporting other small businesses—is really important to us.”

The Curwensville Feed Store will hold its grand re-opening celebration on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

“We are excited to hold our grand re-opening in conjunction with the Home for The Holidays weekend festivities in Curwensville,” shares McAninch.

“It’s a great way to support our community and share our excitement in being a part of Curwensville.”

The celebration will include a fun and unique sale, the “Curwensville Feed Store Bucket Sale.”

Customers can fill a five-gallon Curwensville Feed Store bucket, and receive a 20 percent discount on items contained within it.

There will be complimentary hamburgers and hot dogs, with food and drinks being served on-site by Boy Scout Troop 36.

Starr Hill Winery will offer a wine tasting during the event, plus door prizes provided by Curwensville Feed Store and their vendors, as well as other store discounts and giveaways.

“We want to thank our customers and community for their continued support,” shares McAninch. “We are looking forward to seeing everyone.”
