- Police handled an incident of public drunkenness Aug. 4 at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. According to a department-issued news release, fair security observed an intoxicated male in a parking lot located off Weaver Street. When contact was made with the male, he stated he was waiting for friends to pick him up. He was cited for the incident and released.
- Police received a report of a domestic in progress Aug. 6 in the 200-block of Clearfield Street. According to a department-issued news release, the incident was possibly physical in nature and the male had fled on foot. When contact was made with the victim, she said the male had pushed her to the ground. She didn’t suffer any visible injuries and didn’t want to pursue any charges. While on-scene, the male called the victim and police were able to obtain his location. It was found he had an active arrest warrant out of Dauphin County. The male was subsequently housed in county jail to await extradition.
- Police received a parking complaint Aug. 4 in a 300-block of Nichols Street. Fairgoers were reportedly parking in private yards; tickets were issued to motorists in violation.
- Police received a report of theft Aug. 4 at the Clearfield Walmart store. During the incident, someone allegedly took $40 from a self-checkout. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report of assault Aug. 5 in the 300-block of Hook Street. During the incident, two males allegedly engaged in a fight; however, police were unable to locate either party. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report of motor vehicle theft Aug. 5 on Banks Street. Upon investigation, it was found a relative had actually moved the vehicle and neglected to notify the vehicle owner.
- Police received a report of a domestic Aug. 5 in the 300-block of Hook Street. During the incident, a known male allegedly struck a known female in the stomach, then attempted to push her down the stairs. Upon arrival, police observed the female as she entered a residence; she wouldn’t answer to speak with officers.
- Police received a report of criminal mischief Aug. 6 in the 1200-block of Woodland Avenue. During the incident, someone allegedly threw a rock into a residence, causing damage. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report of disorderly conduct Aug. 6 in the 300-block of East Cherry Street. According to a department-issued news release, a male was pounding on the door and attempting to get inside. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate the male. It was noted that the caller wasn’t concerned as the male was only there to retrieve his property that was placed outside.
- Police received a report of trespassing Aug. 6 at an East Fifth Street residence. According to a department-issued news release, a female—later identified as a 41-year-old Hyde woman—was trying to enter a residence. It was found the woman was under the influence of a controlled substance(s), and couldn’t provide an explanation for her actions. A search of the woman’s person allegedly turned up numerous controlled substances and paraphernalia. She was housed in county jail on a probation violation. Charges were filed through the district court.
- Police reported a pursuit occurred Aug. 4 on River, Deacon and High Level roads as well as Center and Race streets. According to a department-issued news release, officers attempted to stop a Dodge Durango for a summary violation. The driver engaged officers in a pursuit that was terminated once it reached the Rockton Mountain Highway near the county fair. Police have a suspect, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
