- Police received a report of a burglary July 23 at the Hyde Uni-Mart. According to a department-issued news release, when officers responded to an activated alarm, they discovered the front door had been smashed and that items had also been removed from the store. The investigation is ongoing at this time, and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
- Police received a report of a physical domestic July 23 in the 300-block of East Cherry Street. During the incident, a male allegedly grabbed a female by her throat. When officers arrived, it was also learned that he had threatened the victim with a firearm and directed threats of physical harm towards her. The male was taken into custody and put in county jail.
- Police assisted emergency personnel July 22 on Village Road where a male’s lawnmower had overturned and entrapped him. Officers assisted with lifting the mower off the male and his care was turned over to Clearfield EMS.
- Police received a report of a domestic July 22 on the Krebs Highway. During the incident, a male allegedly threw a closed multi-tool, striking a female in the face. A citation for harassment is currently pending.
- Police received a report of a domestic assault July 20 on Park Avenue Extension. During the incident, a male allegedly choked and assaulted an individual. The male was determined to be under the influence and currently on probation. He was taken into custody and put in county jail on probation detainer. Charges were filed including strangulation, assault and related offenses against the male identified as 40-year-old James Wilt of Clearfield.
- Police received a report of assault July 20 on East Locust Street. During the incident, a male allegedly entered a residence and engaged in a physical altercation with another male whom was injured. The male suspect later surrendered to police without incident; charges are currently pending.
