STATE COLLEGE – The Downtown State College Improvement District (DSCID), a Neighborhood Improvement District representing over 350 participating businesses in Downtown State College, hosts a weekly evening concert series beginning June 28 through Aug. 30.

Lee Anne Jeffries, executive director of the Downtown State College Improvement District, invites the community to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza for live music and a festive atmosphere as part of the Live After 5 concert series.

“This year’s diverse musical line-up is sure to please our summer music lovers,” she said. “We invite you to join us as we celebrate our local talent, their artistry and the vibrancy their music brings to our town.”

The DSCID continues to partner with Luke Cimbala of The Band Junkies to bring some of the area’s top musical talent to town for this weekly event each Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This year’s performance line-up includes Biscuit Jam, Lowjack, Ady’s Latin Band, Velveeta and many more.

It is the Downtown State College Improvement District’s hope that local community members will use this event as an opportunity to explore all that the downtown has to offer such as diverse shopping, scrumptious dining and a vibrant art scene.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

The Downtown State College Improvement District is committed to supporting local businesses through showcasing diverse and free events for everyone to enjoy.
