DUBOIS – The suspect in an hours-long police standoff Wednesday in Sandy Township is in federal custody.
The standoff shutdown a large section of state Route 255 between DuBois and Penfield, according to WJAC-TV.
Police Chief Kris Kruzelak reported State Police and U.S. Marshals went to an Old Route 255 home to serve a federal search warrant.
“The suspect wouldn’t respond to commands from authorities,” Kruzelak said, and a standoff ensued.
No injuries were reported as a result, and authorities haven’t yet released the suspect’s name.
Authorities have reopened the roadway, and permitted area residents to return home, according to WJAC.
