The State Employee Combined Appeal Campaign (SECA), which is Pennsylvania’s annual combined charitable giving campaign for employees, is under way for the next several weeks, according to Nancy Pinto at the Clearfield Area United Way.
“We have delivered information to nearby state agencies and local coordinators, [because] employees have the opportunity to donate to any of the hundreds of participating non-profit agencies,” Pinto explained.
The annual campaign, which runs through early November, gives employees the opportunity to donate via a payroll deduction, or by contributing via credit card, check, cash or money order.
This year, commonwealth employees who have access to employee self-service (ESS) can also support SECA by pledging online at www.myWorkplace.state.pa.us. For additional information, employees may visit: www.seca.state.pa.us.
It was noted that non-ESS users will continue to pledge by using paper forms and resource guides. Also, employees wishing to make a one-time donation by check must still use the paper forms, and an ample quantity of forms will be made available to all agencies.
If you have questions or need assistance with online pledging, please contact the HR Service Center, which is available weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 866-377-2672.
In the SECA Campaign Resource Guide, the valuable services these agencies provide range from conserving natural resources to providing assistance to the elderly, as well as providing shelter for a needy family — in Pennsylvania, the nation or the world.
There are umbrella agencies including United Ways throughout Pennsylvania, United Negro College Fund, State system of Higher Education Foundation, America’s Charities and America’s Best Charities, Communities Health Charities, Earth Share PA, Christian Service Charities and Global Impact.
