BROOKVILLE – The Wild Laurel Cloggers have set local dates for a free performance in December; a free introductory workshop in January; and a 12-week class that will run from January to April.

All of these events will be held at the Heritage House, located at 4 Sylvania St., Brookville.

The free holiday performance will be held, from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m., Dec. 17. It will feature the sounds of the holiday season, along with dance to classic rock, pop, country and bluegrass tunes.

Cloggers will even offer a few beginner steps to those who are interested. For more information, please visit the Facebook event page.

A free introductory workshop will be offered, from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., Jan. 18. Everyone is welcome to come pick up a few steps, and learn more about this percussive Appalachian dance form. For more information, please visit the Facebook event page.

From Jan. 21 – April 7, the Wild Laurel Cloggers will offer a 12-week class on Tuesday nights, from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m., beginning Jan. 21 and running through April 7.

This fun, beginner-level class will explore this uniquely American dance style, as students learn fundamental clogging steps and combinations.

The cost is $60 per dancer, and kids who are 12 years and under are free when accompanied by an adult dancer. No experience is necessary, and all ages are welcome.

Attendance at the introductory workshop is not required but is encouraged. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers with a relatively flat, non-grip sole or tap shoes.
