CLEARFIELD – Whether you’re recovering yourself, or if you wish to support others, Bilger’s Rocks is the place to be on Sept. 21.

Terry O’Conner, historian for the Bilger’s Rocks Association, discussed the upcoming Rock’n Recovery Day to be held at Bilger’s Rocks park during Tuesday’s Clearfield County Commissioner’s meeting.

O’Conner said the event is for anyone who is recovering from everything from drug and alcohol addiction, suicidal thoughts or depression, dementia/Alzheimer’s, heart attack, stroke, death of a loved one or any other struggle.

All are invited to attend. He said the event is also open to families of those recovering.

O’Conner said there will be numerous resources to help with all aspects of recovery, as well as food vendors, music and support groups.

“This isn’t just for drugs or alcohol,” O’Conner said. “There are so many people who are struggling with so many problems. This is a day for all to come together and just support each other.”

O’Conner and fellow Bilger’s Rocks Association members Leslie Buffone and Dennis Biancuzzo also asked the commissioners to declare September as National Recovery Month, which the commissioner’s approved.
