State police at Clearfield
- On Aug. 19, state police took a 44-year-old Houtzdale woman, identified as Crystal Shevlin, into custody for a felony warrant out of New Jersey. Extradition was confirmed with the originating agency, and Shevlin was charged with arrest prior to requisition through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief and theft that occurred Monday on Manning Drive in Cooper Township. Charges were subsequently filed through the district court as a result.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a theft that occurred on Temple Avenue. During the incident, someone allegedly stole multiple items from a parked vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
- Police received a report about a retail theft that occurred at CVS Pharmacy. The investigation is ongoing.
- Police made contact with a wanted male on South Fourth Street. He was able to satisfy the warrant, police said.
- Police responded to a reported security alarm on Elk Avenue. Upon arrival, police determined it was a faulty smoke detector.
- Police responded to a report of a vehicle swerving on the roadway. Upon arrival in the area, police were unable to locate it.
- Police responded to a noise complaint on East 10th Street. Upon arrival, the noise was unfounded.
Sandy Township
- Police received a report about a false alarm at JCPenney on Friday.
- On Saturday police were contacted by an employee of the Country Place Trailer Court who reported an apparent abandoned vehicle that was parked at the end of Time to Bid Road. Officers determined the identity of the owner and that the vehicle was not stolen.
- On Saturday police received a report about a phone scam. According to police, an 84-year-old Guy Avenue resident received a call from someone claiming her grandson was in trouble and in need of money. She recognized the call as a scam and did not give out any information.
- On Saturday police were contacted by a woman who reported that her live-in boyfriend had assaulted her by hitting her in the head with an A&W mug. Charges have been filed, police said.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a 70-year-old Clearfield woman who reported that a large buck ran out in front of her vehicle, and she was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting it. Moderate damage and no injuries were reported as a result.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a 31-year-old man who reported that after walking his dog, he returned to his apartment where he was threatened by another man who thought his dog attacked a cat.
- Police received a report about a crash that occurred Sunday in Sandy Township. According to police, a 63-year-old Lewistown man lost control of his motorcycle while traveling on Rockton Road, causing it to travel off the roadway. Police say the man was transported by medical helicopter to a trauma center.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a 72-year-old DuBois woman who reported that her Pomeranian ran off while they were on the Rails to Trails.
