CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners held a brief meeting on Tuesday morning.
The commissioners:
- approved purchase of service agreements with Tawney J. Bookhamer and Christy Daubs for posting tax sale notices.
- approved a collaborative agreement with Community Guidance Center.
- approved liquid fuel allocations to Chest Township ($3,190.28) and Sandy Township ($11,864.84).
- approved the new hires of Amber Knepp, part-time corrections officer/jail, effective June 17, and Tara Sample, part-time corrections officer/jail, effective June 24.
- approved the transfers of Matt Savard, part-time telecommunicator/911 to full-time telecommunicator/911, effective June 24, and Frances Salvage, full-time nurse/jail to temporary full-time nurse/jail, effective May 31.
- approved the separations/retirements of Lanetta Lucas, part-time corrections officer/jail, effective May 30; Aaron Conaway, part-time, telecommunicator/911, effective June 3; Amy Holt, part-time telecommunicator/911, effective June 6; Diana MacTavish, field accessor/tax assessment, effective June 6; Ashley Dixon, telecommunicator/911, effective June 15; and Tracey Rose, administrative assistant/recreation and tourism, effective June 21.
- rescinded the previous resignation of Salvage, nurse/jail, effective May 31.
- approved the minutes from the May 28 board meeting.
- approved the bills as presented by the controller’s office.
During Tuesday’s salary board meeting, it approved a request from Chief Public Defender Dan Bell to create a temporary, full-time position of assistant public defender, effective July 1, with a salary of $39,500 annually.
The board noted this position will remain in effect during the projected year-long military deployment of the current assistant public defender.
Also, it approved the creation of a temporary, full-time nurse position at the jail. This was done to allow Salvage to remain on staff to train the new licensed practical nurse that hasn’t yet been hired.
