TIPTON – Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger wrapped up its annual western region Celebrating Miracles Telethon Sunday raising $830,389 for Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital pediatric services.
The total was announced at the close of the annual broadcast at 6 p.m. Sunday at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park on WTAJ. The telethon and events held all weekend was a culmination of year-round fundraising efforts.
Donations stay in the region to help sick and injured children through programs, services and medical equipment provided through Geisinger Pediatrics at facilities like Geisinger Gray’s Woods in State College.
“We would like to thank our corporate sponsors, families, volunteers and the community for helping us reach this total,” said Paul Bellino, MD, chair of Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger.
“We are extremely thankful for the support we receive that helps ensure that Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital can continue to create healthy tomorrows for local children!”
Donations still are being accepted online at go.geisinger.org/wtaj.
