About 50 seniors from the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School recently went to the Holocaust Center in Pittsburgh thanks to a grant. Students received a tour and also listened to a speaker who shared about her father’s experience.
Afterward, they went to the “Keeping Tabs” memorial at the Jewish Community Day School. Six million pop tabs were collected for this memorial project, one for each victim of the Holocaust. They were then put into 960 glass jars, each containing 6,250 tabs; the memorial is in the shape of the Star of David.
Shown are students and teachers, Mrs. Tiffany Warlow and Mr. Eric Yingling, in front of the “Keeping Tabs” memorial.
