DUBOIS – State Rep. Matt Gabler (R-Clearfield/Elk) reminds veterans the new year is a great time to review benefits and ensure they are receiving all they’ve earned for their service.
“Turning the calendar to a new year is a good time for veterans to note any life changes or program modifications that may have taken place and see how they affect the benefits for which they are eligible,” Gabler said.
A representative from the Pennsylvania American Legion holds office hours at Gabler’s DuBois district office the first Tuesday of every month.
However, due to the New Year’s Day holiday, this month’s hours will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The regular schedule returns in February, when the veterans outreach event will be held on Feb. 5.
“You do not need to be an American Legion member to take advantage of this service,” added Gabler. “We partner with the American Legion to offer this ‘check-up’ as a way to say thank you for all our veterans have done for our country.”
The DuBois office is located in Suite 10 of the DuBois Area Plaza, 1221 E. DuBois Ave.
Gabler also noted veterans may find it more convenient to reach out to one of the following:
- Clearfield County Veteran’s Affairs, 212 E. Locust St., Clearfield, 814-765-2642.
- Elk County Veteran’s Affairs, 300 Center St., Ridgway, 814-776-5370.
Questions about this service or any state-related matter may be directed to Gabler’s DuBois office at 814-375-4688, his St. Marys office at 814-781-6301 or Clearfield office at 814-765-0593.
