CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners held their reorganizational meeting on Tuesday.
Commissioners John A. Sobel and Tony Scotto were retained as chairman and vice chairman, respectively.
Sobel was appointed to serve on the following boards: Clearfield County Recreation & Tourism Authority, Community Connections Heroin Task Force and Workforce Solutions.
Scotto was appointed to serve on the following boards: Clearly Ahead Development, Central Pennsylvania Community Action and Clearfield County Conservation District.
Commissioner Mark McCracken was appointed to serve on the following boards: North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development, Central Counties Youth Detention Center and PCHIP.
The commissioners will continue to hold work session meetings on the first Tuesday of the month. Regular meetings will be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
All meetings will be held at 10 a.m. at the commissioners’ conference room at the county’s administrative offices. Meetings may be re-scheduled, as-needed, around elections and holidays.
The commissioners also approved to retain GAI Associates as the county’s engineer and the firm of Mette, Evans and Woodside as special counsel for issues involving the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The salary board reorganized with Sobel being appointed chairman, Scotto as vice chairman and Controller Tom Adamson as secretary/treasurer.
Meetings will continue to be held at 10 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month immediately before the commissioners’ meeting.
The board also approved to set the salary of the fiscal operations officer/Children & Youth Services at $28,000 annually, effective Jan. 2.
The retirement board reorganized with Scotto being appointed chairman, Sobel as vice chairman, Adamson as secretary and Treasurer Carol Fox as treasurer. Meetings will be held at 9 a.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month.
